I Have Met The Tiger
(#6, from "Revelation")

It is at the time, half way through my life
That I come to a place of nothingness.
I have met the tiger.
Being of immense feline sensitivity,
I was taken just short of immediately.
Its suave motion and its unrelenting persuasion
drew me like dew to a morning field.
I fell in its grasp and surrounded myself with its passion.
Into the forest of unexpected pleasure it
Caressed my needy secrets, kindling
A fire that always left me wanting more.
It quieted my apprehensions as they rose.
The tiger instilled trust as sure as its kiss of death.
I have met the tiger.
I have been overwhelmed.
I have handed my life to the beast
and my life was accepted.
The tiger took my heart and ate it without regret and
I, so enthralled, enjoyed its contentment.
When the meal was through, so was the tiger.
As sleek as was the arrival so too did the beast depart.
Oh yes,
I have met the tiger
And now
I am dead.
